The Olza Project is an initiative of Rathdowney Polska Sp. z o. o. (Rathdowney), aimed at making zinc and lead resources available in the southwestern part of Zawiercie County, thanks to the construction of a modern underground mine.
Rathdowney devoted thirteen years of work to carrying out comprehensive preliminary studies for Project Olza, including outreach and cooperation with surrounding municipalities and residents, as well as geological, environmental and engineering studies.
The primary purpose of Rathdowney’s public engagement is to educate and inform local communities about:
modern underground mining practices and technologies;
the process according to which the mine under Project Olza would be designed, approved for construction, built and could operate;
opportunities to participate and benefit from subsequent stages of the Olza Project implementation.
In the future, Rathdowney would propose a development plan for the Olza Project and initiate an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. The EIA process would require direct participation of local officials, residents and landowners.

Rathdowney Polska Sp. z o. o. is a division of Rathdowney Resources Limited, a Canadian company in the mineral exploration and development industry, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX Venture Exchange). Rathdowney Resources Limited is part of the Hunter Dickinson Inc. Group of companies. HDI is a Canadian company with over thirty-five years of experience in the exploration and recognition of mineral deposits worldwide, bringing benefits to local communities, employees and shareholders.
The main objective of the company's activity is to search for new deposits of base metals (zinc and lead) occurring in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin in southern Poland. The Olza Project will potentially create several hundred jobs for the inhabitants of the region, providing good wages and employment for several decades. At the same time, the Project will take care of the protection of water resources and the quality of air, soil, fauna and flora, and other important natural resources.
Rathdowney Polska operates in accordance with Polish and European law. It also complies with high Canadian standards, which place particular emphasis on environmental protection and public consultation. Public participation is essential at every stage to ensure that the priorities and concerns of the region's residents are taken into account during the implementation of the Olza Project.
